The 65th Independence Day was celebrated with a great zeal and enthusiasm in our school. The progarmme started with the opening prayer. The English Choir gave a thoughtful song on kingdom of God followed by speech in English by Gitanjali Ravi of std. XI on ‘Glorious India’. It’s progress as well as the obstacles which are hindering the growth of India was highlighted. The role of a sailor was highlighted in a choreography by Vth Std students. The programme continued with the inspiring speech on ‘Sindhipom and Seyalpaduvom’ was given by Sindhuja E.M. STD XI in Tamil. The striking and thought provoking item on the programme was the excellent debate on the topic. “Is Democracy successful or unsuccessful in India”. Roshini Roy Divya, T. Derlene Deslene , Manasa V.S. and Priscilla Andrew participated in the debate and made it very interesting. A most colourful dance on ‘Free India was performed by students of Std XI and XII.

The chief guest Mr.D.Raghavan – Head of operations – Indian Geo informatics Center Chennai congratulated the students for their deep involvement and making the day of celebration, a meaningful and colourful one.
