C.S.I. Jessie Moses Matriculation and Higher Secondary School

HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL C.S.I. Jessie Moses School, Annanagar (formerly Bain School), started as a primary school in 1978 in a rented building, is today recognised by the Education Department of the Government of Tamilnadu and is under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of School Education and the Directorate of Matriculation Schools. This School was founded by late Miss. Jessie Moses, Former Principal and Correspondent of C.S.I. Bain School, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10, to serve the needs of the children in this area. It was inaugurated on 3rd July 1978 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Sundar Clarke, then Bishop in Madras, in a rented building at Plot No. 4325, 5th Main Road, Annanagar, Chennai. The School at present is established in its own land at 37/Z-183, 5th Avenue, Annanagar, Chennai – 40. The School is governed by a Management Committee.

OBJECTIVES

The school offers a sound liberal Christian and general education aiming at the development of character and total personality of each pupil through a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities. It is a minority school intended primarily to promote the educational interests according to Christian usage. Scripture teachings based on the Bible is compulsory for all Christian students, to instill in them excellent moral and ethical values. The school is co-educational at the Nursery and Primary levels but has only girls in the High School and Higher Secondary Classes.
